Thank goodness for cheap wireless plans and #Phones4School. Let me tell you a little story…

“When can I walk to school on my own, Mama?” She asked on her very first day of kindergarten all those years ago.

“Fourth grade,” I answered her. She was tiny, and fourth grade was FOREVER away, I would be ready for her to walk to school by then. Right?

Wrong.

Flash forward to now. School starts in less than a month, and she’ll be in the fourth grade. I am still just as nervous about her walking that half mile down the street as I was when she was five years old.

But, Walmart family mobile solves that problem with #Phones4School. And they do it at an amazing price– unlimited talk, text, and web for just $34.88 a month.

I looked into a lot of other plans, and the great thing about that price is, it has UNLIMITED everything. If she watches a ridiculous amount of youtube videos at her grandparents house where they don’t have wifi, then I don’t have to pay any overages. If she and her friends decide they want to text more than anyone has ever texted before, it’s covered. We don’t have a home phone, so if she wanted to talk for hours on end, I don’t have to worry about how many minutes she’s used up. And that is why I went with the Walmart Family Mobile plan. Because I don’t want to worry any more than I already am!

It was super easy to get a phone at Walmart. Basically, I went back to the electronics section, picked out a phone, grabbed the starter kit (It has a sim card and instructions for activating your phone in it) checked out, and went home to activate everything. They would have helped me out in the store, but I wanted to look through all the notes and make sure I picked the right plan. (There really wasn’t a need for that, it’s basically two choices either unlimited everything WITH web, or unlimited everything except web.)

Their unlimited talk, text, and web plan is on Rollback right now for $34.88 a month, so it was a no brainer. That’s a great deal. They also have an Alcatel One Touch Evolve Smartphone on Rollback for $29.88 (Regular $79.88.) What’s cool about the unlimited plan is, it stays that price forever as long as you get a phone from now until October 31, 2014.

When we got home, all we had to do was stick the sim card into the back of the Smartphone and call to get it set up. All these instructions are in the starter kit.

The instructions were really clear, and the people on the phone were super helpful. My plan was all set up in less than ten minutes with no money up front. So, awesome.

And now, when my daughter walks home from school, I will have a little peace of mind knowing that I can get in touch with her, and she can get in touch with me.

Special thanks to #CollectiveBias for the opportunity to write this post.

  1. So are you going to hop in your car and follow her while she walks to school? Cause I’d totally do that. #client
