My Daughter is a TwirlyGirl

My daughter loves an adorable girls maxi dress like these. So, when TwirlyGirl sent us The Marvelous Maxi Dress to check out, she was so excited!

The thing is, as she’s gotten older, it’s hard to convince her to wear them as much. She complains that they aren’t comfortable or that they don’t fit her right. Especially now that she’s a little older, I was really happy to see that their dresses and clothes go all the way up to a size 14! That’s super cool, and as someone who has a VERY TALL eight year old, that is awesome!

I asked her what she wanted in a dress and she told me that she wants to be able to MOVE in her girl maxi dress, but still look adorable. And I don’t blame her! So, when I convinced her to try on one of these girls maxi dresses, I was worried that she wouldn’t like it!

But as soon as she got it on, she turned into a total super model! (Check out that blue steel bottom left.) I think a girl maxi dress is perfect, and I am so glad she was willing to wear it.

So if your daughter is one of those maxi dress girls, then this is the dress for her. It’s modest enough to cover everything it needs to cover, but still totally adorable. (We have a huge problem with dresses being too low cut, or showing her entire back when we just go pick them out at the stores, so I was very happy this dress didn’t do that!)

But, don’t take my word for it. I asked her about the dress, and here’s what she had to say, “This dress is nice mom. And I don’t mean just like nice nice. I mean it feels really good. I like the way it twirls.”

I asked her if she would wear it to school.

“Of course I would, I mean it’s just as comfortable as a track suit or whatever, except I look totally adorable.”

And she’s right, she totally does. I am jelly. I wish they came in mommy sizes, because I would totally rock that maxi dress look!

Then because she is a total fashionista, I asked her what were the best accessories for maxi dresses.

“Well, mom– you should wear boots for sure, because it makes it look more awesome, and then I would try maybe a cute headband but you don’t need a necklace because the top has this cuteness and you don’t want to hide the cuteness.”

Seriously, she said that. I mean, I can barely figure out which flip flops to wear all summer long, and she’s planning accessories for outfits. But then again, when she was four, I asked her what Obama should talk about in his upcoming Presidential address, and she told me that “whatever he does, he should make sure his shoes match his dress.”

So girlfriend knows what she’s talking about when it comes to fashion. And Obama.
