How I Reinvented Game Night

This year is my 20th high school reunion. The big 2-0. And my nephew just graduated from high school and is moving off to Austin because apparently he thinks his happiness is more important than mine. But, I digress. It dawned on me with all of this happening that as much as I want to Benjamin Button this bitch called life, that’s not gonna happen. So, SINCE I am unmarried and have no kids, I’ve decided to institute Game Night. Don’t get me wrong, my friends and I have spent a lot of time together all along, but life is hectic and sometimes we’re lucky to get a hi/bye before everyone is racing around to the next activity.

No bueno.

So here’s to our first weekly game night and many more to come!

It’s been a while since we’ve had game night, so to get everyone in the mood I brought out the pizza oven. Ordering pizza in is flip-balls expensive and this one works so fast that we were able to each pick our favorite flavors. Huge bonus with my picky friends.

I LOVE this pizza oven. For the longest time we would either order pizza (like I said, e x p e n s i v e) or pop a frozen one in the oven but…we’re in Texas. Let’s face it, Texas gets H.O.T. It seemed silly to heat up the entire house each time we wanted to make pizza, so I decided to give this one a try. It’s kind of ridiculous how much I love this thing. Like, I’ve got so many ideas of things to try with it. Pretty sure the next big one is going to be an open-faced cinnamon roll flatbread. *crossing my fingers*

After we ate, we decided to sit down to play King of Tokyo. It’s a new game to us, but it was SO much fun. My friends kept ganging up on me because I picked the CyberBunny as my character, but I rolled SIX damage on what would have been my last roll (you’d have to play the game to get it…) and TOOK THEM ALL OUT. Ha!

family night

After a couple more rounds, my boyfriend took one of our dogs for a walk (okay, so he’s not really my boyfriend but seriously, how cute is he! Also, Hottie McDog-Lover, I’m totally single. Hit me up if you dig busty brunettes) while the rest of us settled in to watch a movie. All I can say is I LOVED game night and I truly can’t wait for the next one.

Shop for Game Night:

Here’s a link to my Rotating Pizza Oven. I got mine at Walmart, but I’ve seen them all over the place. Just look for a great deal, it really is worth the price.

King of Tokyo is a game everyone should have. We truly loved it and now my friends want the expansion packs. Ha ha!!

Since we wanted to relax and enjoy the night, I added PanAway Essential Oil to my defuser and let the night lead the way. This stuff smells amazing, and it’s really good at reducing tension headaches…at least for me.

Hope this inspires you, and can’t wait to hear about your own game nights. Have fun!!
