Go Behind The Scenes With Blue Man Group in Las Vegas
I am all about the VIP treatment when I travel, and that’s EXACTLY what the Behind the Blue Experience at Blue Man Group in Las Vegas at Luxor Hotel and Casino is!
This is something you set up in advance, you arrive a little early to the show, a VIP host comes out and gets you, and takes you backstage before the show gets started. Like, seriously, they hand you some drumsticks, and tell you to go to town. We played a ton of the instruments before the show, and they are the SAME drums, pipes, and crazy fun instruments they use during the actual performance!
These aren’t just any old instruments. Blue Man Group modifies them to do all sorts of cool stuff, and they even make some of them all on their own.
They even let you do things like touch the actual face paint the Blue Men use. This stuff feels SO crazy. While you’re backstage, they give you all sorts of cool trivia tidbits. Did you know that the Blue Men wear latex gloves, and they have them special-made in a color that is called “Blue Man Blue?”
The PVC was probably my favorite thing to play. We spent a LONG time smacking them. The foam paddles used to play the instrument were invented by the Blue Man Group founders after one of them used his own flip flop as a drum stick!
I loved getting this little insider look into the show before it happened. They even let you stick around for sound check and you get to watch and hear the cast members practice pieces fo the show.
Oh, with the VIP experience, we were able to meet the Blue Men after the show in a secret roped off area. They even gave my VIP badge a special Blue Kiss I got to take home. SO COOL.

Blue Man Group is such an awesome show! I’ve never sat up front in the poncho section or done the behind the blue scenes, but would love to! Really cool to see and hear behind the scenes from you here – will have to take the family sometime!
