LuLaRoe is the hot new way to make money working from home all while feeling comfortable and looking great. Being a consultant has been amazing* and I’ve only been a consultant for a little over a month. While many want to jump into selling LuLaRoe like I do, there are also many that are scared of the upfront cost that it takes to become a consultant. Let me tell you that it isn’t anything to be scared of. In fact, I am going to tell you exactly How to Have The Money to Be a LuLaRoe Consultant!

Before you need to know how to have the money, you need to be aware of how much. To become a LuLaRoe consultant it costs right around $6,500 (including the leggings package which I highly recommend). While that is quite the expense, you need to keep in mind that it is ALL inventory so you will receive items you can start selling and making your money back on immediately.

Now with that being said, it can be a pretty penny especially if you don’t just have around $7K just lying around. There are many ways you can truly have the money to be a LuLaRoe Consultant. Yard sales, bake sales, asking for donations, borrowing from savings, selling your first born (ha – just kidding)… just to name a few. But if you really want to get the money you need without all that extra effort, then do what I did: take out a personal loan!

Before you start freaking out at the thought of borrowing the money from a bank or credit union, hear me out!

All you need to take out a personal loan is: good credit and a source of income. If you are married but unemployed, even your spouse’s income can help you get a loan.

Here are a few things to keep in mind when looking to borrow money:

  1. Credit union interest rates are typically far lower than any bank interest rates.
  2. Shop around. Just because one bank says no for the full amount, doesn’t mean everywhere else will.
  3. The better your credit score, the better the rate of the interest loan and payment will be.
  4. This is only TEMPORARY. Please keep in mind that this is only a temporary solution so you can invest into your business. This is not a long-term money plan. No need to panic.

So now you know how to have the money to be a LuLaRoe Consultant but what happens after that? Well, you are going to have to work to make your money back. Of course, this means you are going to run your LuLaRoe shop as a business. Host pop-up sales, album sales, live video sales, etc. All of these will sell your initial inventory and replace the money you borrowed (and then some because you do make a profit on the items you sell).

Now, the more you sell the more you will obviously make and the faster you can pay off your personal loan. Each and every person is going to make their initial cost back in different ways and a different rate. However, I can tell you that YOU CAN pay off your loan in 1 MONTH!

How do I know that?

BECAUSE I DID IT!

No, I am not lying. The honest truth is, I took out a personal loan for $7,000. $6,500 of that went to my initial inventory. The rest went into purchase shipping supplies, storage bins, etc.

I took out my personal loan on 7/16/16.

I received my onboarding call (this is when payment is actually made to LuLaRoe to become a consultant) on 7/19/16. You can see my cost was $6,488.50.

I didn’t even have my first sale until 7/25/16 and by today (8/28/16) I have entirely paid off my personal loan AND purchased new inventory as I’ve sold it! The last payment I made was for the $838.53 and my personal loan balance is now at ZERO!

For the month of August, I had 7 live sales, 1 album sale, and 2 personal shopping sessions with friends and family. And I was able to pay off my loan and purchase new inventory. From here on out, besides replacing the cost of inventory I purchase, I am making all profit on my business. Which is amazing!

Oh, and did I mention that I also cruise qualified this month? The company offers incentives when you sell so much in a month and when you do, you qualify to go on an all-expense paid cruise that is paid for by the LuLaRoe company. Amazing, right?

So here’s the thing, personal loans are a great way to get that immediate money to become a LuLaRoe consultant. It seems scary to borrow so much money but if you put the time into your business, you will succeed and you will pay of your loan quickly. It can be done and my story is the perfect example on how to do that.

EDITED TO SAY: I have since Left LuLaRoe and am no longer a consultant. Honestly, they really went downhill and I would never EVER suggest that someone become a LuLaRoe consultant now. If you are looking for something to bring in some extra money for your family, I now suggest this.

It’s so much better, and it’s way easier!

  2. This article was a joke right? This company currently
has over 15,0000 pending complaints. There are tons of YouTube videos from former consultants warning about the pyramid scam -no person with basic intelligence is going to take out a 7000.

  3. Hello. If you could email me back that would be amazing. I would like to start a lularoe business. My only problem is the finance.

  4. Wow. You seriously expect readers to believe you had an onboarding call 7/19/16 amd then a 1st sale 7/25?? That’s 5 calendar DAYS to receive your inventory and make a sale. Not possible when you consider most consultants wait WEEKS for their packages. PUHLEEEZE. Have some respect for yourself and your fellow humans. Come up with more plausible lies. I want you to know that I thank you. Profusely. You have just pushed me off the LuLaRoe fence with your complete BS. I fervently hope you aren’t paying attention to this post, and my words will remain for others contemplating drinking Kool-Aid to find and read.

  6. I think for small business owners, the problem of how to advertise is very important for them. As they do not have big budget, how to get their website expose and create sufficient traffic to make sales is a challenge.

  7. I have been wondering should I go and apply for loans before I sign up or sign up and then start looking for a loan? My husband and I don’t have the best of credit so I worry that if I sign up and then get the call what happens if I don’t have the money? I also fear having a loan that I can’t pay off also due to not being able to sell stock. Thank you for your time.

  8. Hey girl! I’m a teacher. No extra money laying around! And I am burnt out! I’d love the idea of this and am obsessed with lula. I am now called by my friends the “pop up party wing woman”- and more than 10 ppl have told me to go for it. How do you keep track of sales, taxes, expenses etc.?

    1. This is the worst idea I’ve ever seen! There is no way to guarantee that you will be successful and with the diminishing quality of LLR products it is likely you will fall further into debt. Do not do this!

      1. This girl I worked with is $5,000 in debt from it.

  9. Hello! So I have a question, when you have a live sale, was this in a closed fb group and where how did you get members to join your group?
