Refresh Your Look to Go Back to Work After Baby

When you’ve had a baby, a lot has changed. I mean, you’ve been off work for 3, 4 or even 6 weeks (LOVE the 6-weeks off!) and, hopefully, you didn’t even have to wear make-up once during that entire mini-baby-cation. But, chances are, you need to Refresh Your Look to Go Back to Work After Baby. I did, my mom did, we all have to do it. So, plan ahead and don’t leave it until the morning before. You’ll be sorry if you do.

Refresh Your Look to Go Back to Work After Baby

  • Hair Style. Let me start by saying that it’s one of my biggest pet-peeves that moms chop-off their hair as soon as they have a baby. There is NO REASON for new moms to suddenly all have pixie style cuts. Especially for those of us that don’t have the face to carry it. You don’t have to do that. There are totally alternatives to snipping the lovely locks. I have super long hair, so I went with braids. Yeah, plural. I went with two braids–because I’m awesome that way and I’m in a field where crazy hair style is a-ok. But you could do one braid if your office culture is more stodgy (that’s a real word! EEP!). Or a ponytail, or a bun. Or, you can wear your hair down at work and just put it up at home to keep it away from grasping baby-hands. Don’t punish your hair style just because you had a baby. Please. Do it for me.
  • Under-Eye Bags. Babies equal more than just cute-stuff, they are the seat of all that is “never going to sleep again”. I’ve had so little sleep since my baby was born, I’m thinking of opening an all-night coffee shop in my kitchen. And, don’t you know it, my eyes have these weird grey saggy bags under them. Isn’t that a coincidence? Well, I don’t know about you, but I can’t go back to work looking like a bag-eyed zombie. And this is honestly the biggest sign of my no-sleep state. So, I really have to do something to knock it off–fast. Enter Sudden Change Under Eye Firming Serum. Three minutes and my eyes are more firm, bags are gone and I’m looking well-rested. Ha! Instant retoucher for real life? Yep. Now if only I had something that worked just as fast for a post-baby-belly reducer. Before and after Sudden Change Serum
  • Clothes. I’m not telling you your body is all dismorphasized after you’ve had a baby, but, chances are, it is, whether you’d like to admit it or not. You can try putting on your old work clothes. See if those dress slacks still fit, but really, you’re most likely somewhere between maternity clothes and your old stuff from pre-pregnancy. Do yourself a favor and just go buy a couple of outfits you can work with. Something cheap for the short period of time you’ll be wearing it. You did it for maternity clothes, now do it for yourself so you’re not looking all weirdy in your old threads while your body gets back to the you you once knew.
  • Nails. I’m not a proponent of long nails and baby. I’m just worried I’ll poke baby’s eye out. I know. Random me. But seriously, even if you do have short nails now because you’re crazy like me, you can still be very tasteful about their care. Just because they aren’t long doesn’t mean you can’t have a nice manicure going on. There’s a ton of options out there, just go exploring and find something that works on short, neatly trimmed nails.
  • Make-up. Something’s gotta give in your old morning routine. I can’t afford to stand over the sink for 45 minutes putting on my eyeshadow, blush, eyeliner, mascara and foundation like I did before baby. Fast is what I need–or I’ll be stuck feeding that hungry diaper-filler again before I can get her out the door to the sitter. I plan to dumb my make-up down. Lip gloss, mascara and a little under-eye foundation/powder combo to keep the shadows at bay (which totally works in concert with my Sudden Change Serum, which goes on with foundation just fine–or without, you can totally do it either way). The people at work will understand. refresh your look after having a baby feature
