Grown up Valentine’s day can be a challenge, but for kids, it’s one of my favorite holidays. It’s a special time to show your classmates how much you love them, and reddit user mack3r’s daughter didn’t let the fact that she’s blind stop her from doing just that.

Even though his daughter can’t see, she still wanted all her second grade classmates to know she loved them, so she brailled LOVE on each Valentine and used a heard shaped punch to cut them out.

She also brailled special notes for each student and tied them to each of the hearts. (Her parents went in and wrote the words next to the braille so her classmates would know what each one said.)

Just how do you braille into paper? “With a tool called a Perkins Brailler,” says mack3r. “It’s like a typewriter that punches the little dots onto special paper that is just thick enough that the punches don’t punch all the way through and become holes.”

These are SO COOL! Definitely cooler than the silly love bug snacks I sent with my daughter this year!
