Prepare yourself for this.

No really. Get ready. This is going to be the most ridiculous kylie lip kit wear test ever.

I recently did a First Impressions video and tried the Kylie Jenner Lip Kits. At first swipe, I really loved them, and was pretty impressed by the formula- BUT, it was a completely different story when I put them through a wear test to see how long they last. The old man was at work on Saturday morning, so I grabbed my sister (and nanny), and took her along for this very silly ride.

We started out by going to my son’s gymnastics class on Saturday morning, which, I had to admit I was a little self conscious about. Who wears red lipstick at 9am? Yeah. I got to be “that mom”. I didn’t get any weird looks though and the lipstick lasted great through chasing my son around and corralling him through the obstacle courses in his class. I was sweating, so that was pretty impressive. It also made it through singing boy bands in the car at the Starbucks drive thru, and drinking coffee through a straw.

It all started going downhill while I was eating an egg sandwich and I noticed that it was coming off on the bread. When I got home I saw that it had come off in the center and a little bit on my lower lip.

I was on my way out the door to a birthday party: so I reapplied. Bad idea. Reapplying made it look horrible, crack, and flake off within 20 minutes. At this point, I was already on my way, so I had a bit of a dilemma on my hands. I was definitely not going to show up to this party looking like I had a disease, but I also really wanted to give it one last test. Since I was in a car, my options were pretty limited, so I decided to do some karaoke and see how much more I could push the lipstick before it really cracked off on me.

I apologize for the craziness you’re about to witness.

Laugh with me. Cry with me.

So, if you apply once, and don’t eat: it looks great. I really love it at first. It dries down matte, isn’t tacky, looks nice. The lip liner is among the best I ever tried. The lipstick is a little drying, but that comes with the territory. Something like this would be great for a night out, or for someone who doesn’t have lots of wrinkles in their lips like I do.

I would not wear this on a daily basis unless you have time to completely remove it and reapply when it comes off.

DISCLAMER: My son sits face forward on the side of the car because a the Fire Department installed the car seat that way. It is the safest way for him to sit, since the car does not allow him to sit in the center seat.
