Baby stains are not fun. Whether it’s a stain from last night’s spaghetti throwing episode (starring your 12-month-old) or it’s the aftermath of an explosion (you know what I am talking about) the results are always the same; the stains are terribly hard to remove! So today I am going to share with you 5 Ways to Remove Baby Stains from Clothes. These are tried and true ways to save all those adorable baby clothes from heading to the trash!5 Ways To Get Rid Of Baby Stains

5 Ways to Remove Baby Stains From Clothes

  1. Baking Soda. Almost everyone has this on hand which makes it such an easy way to remove stains. To use just mix 2 parts of baking soda and 1 part of water to form a paste. Apply to the stain and wash as normal. For tougher stains, use a brush to rub into the stubborn stain.
  2. Lemon Essential Oil. The power of lemon oil is amazing. Not only does it smell great, it works great on stains. Simple rub a few drops into the stain and wash. It’s an all natural approach as well.
  3. Dishwashing Detergent. You trust this stuff to clean your dishes so why not trust it to clean your clothes? Mix a tablespoon of dishwashing detergent with 2 cups cold water. Dab the stain with the mixture and repeat until the stain is gone.
  4. Vodka. Okay, so you may not want to give up your best stuff but when you are desperate to remove stains, vodka can help. Pour a little on the stain and allow to sit for about 15 minutes before washing (during that time you can enjoy a bit too).
  5. Use a high-quality washer and dryer. Personally, I think that investing in quality cleaning appliances is a must especially when you have kids. With all the washing and drying that is done you not only want an appliance that will get the job done but one that will get the job done right the first time. It saves time, money, and energy.

If your little one’s aren’t already dirty and you need some ideas to help dirty up their clothes so you can have some fun cleaning them, here are some ideas:

    • Allow your baby to play in the sand.
    • Allow your baby to play in the rain and yes, the mud!
    • Make your baby edible paints from condiments (ketchup is always a favorite)
    • Give your baby a colorful and tasty dinner! (my personal favorite see why below)

If you have a baby you know feeding time starts out something like this…before baby stains And ends something like this… after baby stains Stains are EVERYWHERE and you are left wondering if any of the food actually made into your baby’s mouth! Sure you can spend hours scrubbing those stains out using your good old elbow grease but who has the time for that? As a full-time work at home mom I know I don’t! I’ve got a few minutes to pretreat the stain and then I want it out of my sight. So I need a buddy or a best friend of sorts that will help get the tough job done for me. And that is a dependable washer from a brand I trust and love.

  1. Hi Jamie!
Even if stains are very difficult to get rid of I personally think that children must enjoy playing and eating as they wish. I understand that we want them to look clean all the time …but they grow up so fast and never let them time to just be themselves! I never take lots of time to clean, so I will follow your advice on choosing the right product and spend as much quality time that I can with them.
Did you know that dishwashing detergent makes your silver necklaces / bracelets shine again?

  2. Love that you gave quick and easy solutions like lemon oil and baking soda. I didnt know about vodka but I guess I better not try that as I may end up drinking it rather than using it to clean. Ha ha ha
