Ariana Grande Is Starring In A ‘Wicked’ Movie And It’s Going To Be Here Sooner Than Expected

Wicked, the Broadway phenomenon, is coming to the big screen, and I can’t wait!

The wicked-talented Ariana Grande is starring as Glenda the Good Witch.

Cynthia Erivo — who played the Blue Fairy in the live-action Pinocchio — is going to play Elphaba, who turns into the Wicked Witch of the West.

Side Note: If you haven’t yet seen Pinocchio, it is actually a REALLY good live-action retelling of the OG.

Man! I hope they include all the songs from the Wicked Broadway musical — I know them all!

Nope, I’ve never actually seen the show. The music is just that good!

The Wicked movie is going to be split into two installments, about a year apart.

According to GMA, the duo of Wicked movies is going to be “based on the 2003 Wicked Broadway musical, which originally starred Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel as Glinda and Elphaba, respectively.”

The Broadway musical is actually based on the 1995 book: Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West” by Gregory Maguire.

I can’t wait, because the decision to split Wicked into 2 movies means that they can keep the story more true to the book.

There’s nothing worse than a movie based on a book that is nothing like the book, AMIRITE?!?

Wicked, the movie, was originally supposed to drop in December of 2024, but they have decided to let us have it even sooner.

Look for Wicked to hit theaters November 27, 2024.
