Uh oh – things aren’t looking good for Carole Baskin.
She may just be the most hated or most loved woman depending on where you land on the whole – her husband missing thing.
In case you forgot, Carole Baskin made headlines after Netflix’s Tiger King series aired.
It wasn’t just for her quirkiness with animals or the fact that Joe Exotic hired a hitman to murder her that caught everyone’s attention…
It was the fact that people truly believed she murdered her husband Don Lewis for money and power.
Some even believe she fed him to the tigers to cover up the evidence…
Last year, nearly 20 years after being declared dead, news began surfacing that Don Lewis, the ex-husband of Carole Baskin was alive and well, and has been hiding out in Costa Rica.
Tiger King 2 touched up on the subject a bit, with more than one source claiming that they worked with him in Costa Rica or lived by him during the time after his disappearance.
Don Lewis’s attorney, Joseph Fritz, came forward saying that a detective had let him know of Don Lewis’s whereabouts and that he is allegedly alive and well…WHAT?!
“They said that my husband, Don Lewis, is alive and well in Costa Rica. And yet all of this hay has been made about me having something to do with his disappearance, when Homeland Security has known where he is at least since back then.”Carole Baskin
But here’s the thing – this news began recirculating again recently and guess what?
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office says all of that is a lie and still consider him a missing person.
In a statement to The New York Post, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, which has been investigating Lewis’ missing persons case, says he is still listed as a “missing endangered adult” who on Aug. 18, 1997, “left his families [sic] residence and has not been seen or heard from since.”
A spokesperson confirmed the office had not heard anything to the contrary from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), despite Baskin’s explosive TV claim that the department had been in touch with her ex and shared that news with Hillsborough County officers.New York Post
“We have not received any communication from our federal partners that confirms the location of missing person Mr. Don Lewis,” said Fentress Fountain, public information officer for the sheriff’s office.New York Post
The statement continued:
“The investigation into Don Lewis’ disappearance remains a priority for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, as do all missing person cases.”New York Post
This really doesn’t look good for Carole. Like, why else would she lie about her husband being alive and well? I think she has some explaining to do…
