Move Over Pumpkins, Carving Watermelons Are The New Fruit To Turn Into Jack-O-Lanterns For Halloween
Forget pumpkin patches.
Watermelons are the latest fruit to take over the making of jack-o-lanterns considering this fruit requires a lot less pulling and little gripping when it comes down to dissecting its guts.
People on social media are posting their practice runs at carving jack-o-lantern this year with the one popular staple food of summer!
Some are even celebrating “summerween” which is a combination of the summer season and Halloween by carving large green watermelons and turning them into spooky, illuminated jack-o-lanterns.
Unlike pumpkins which show yellow and orange when lit, some watermelon jack-o-lanterns show off a dark red hue when illuminated because of its red guts, rather than an orange inside.
Carve it like you would as if it was a regular pumpkin and this time, you can eat the insides, you just can’t bake the seeds…
So, go on; scoop out those watermelon guts and get to work!
