Celine Dion has come forward to let the world know that she is struggling.

Back in April, she had to postpone her European Courage World Tour dates, because she was having health problems.

But, her health problems have not gotten any better.

On Friday, she took to Instagram to tell her fans the sad news that she has been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome.

While this sounds like a made-up illness, it is actually a very rare neurological condition.

According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, stiff-person syndrome is a progressive neurological disorder — which means it gets worse over time.

Symptoms may include stiff muscles in the trunk (torso), arms, and legs; and greater sensitivity to noise, touch, and emotional distress, which can set off muscle spasms.

Celine says that her team is just learning more about the disease, but she now realizes it is the root of the muscle spasms she has been plagued with.

Hello, everyone. I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to reach out to you. I miss you all so much. And, I can’t wait to be on stage talking to you in person.

I wasn’t ready to say anything before, but I’m ready now. I’ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time, and it’s been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I’ve been going through.

Unfortunately, the spasms affect every aspect of my daily life. Sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal chords to sing the way I’m used to.

It hurts me to tell you today, this means, that I won’t be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February.

I have a great team of doctors working alongside me to help me get better.

I’m working hard with my sports medicine therapist every day to build back my strength and my ability to perform again. But I have to admit, it’s been a struggle.

Our thoughts are with Celine, and we are hopeful that she will improve with time.
