Chris Rock’s mom has broken her silence for the first time since the incident that left millions of people shocked as they watched the incident unfold on live tv.

In case you’ve forgotten, Will Smith slapped Chris Rock across the face during the 2022 Academy Awards after Chris made a joke regarding Jada Pickett Smith (Will’s wife) being bald.

Right after the joke, Will Smith calmly walked up on stage and smacked Chris Rock across the face for the world to see.

While Will has certainly be reprimanded for his actions and lost several movie deals due to the situation, people still don’t seem to be over the event.

Rose Rock (Chris Rock’s mom) has finally spoken her mind on the event.

While speaking with WIS’ Billie Jean Shaw, Mrs. Rock said:

“When he slapped Chris, he slapped all of us. He really slapped me,” Rose said. “No one even heard his speech. No one was able to just be in the moment because everyone was sitting there like, ‘What just happened?'”
