Are Java Chip Frappuccinos your go-to Starbucks drink? Have you been missing out on that caffeinated chocolate goodness? Or even the ore kid-friendly Double Chocolate Chip Frappuccino? Don’t worry! We’ve got you.
We have started a series on how to make your favorite Starbucks drinks from home! Here are some of my personal favorites:
But today we are going to cover quite the fan favorite! The Java Chip and Double Chocolate Chip Frappuccino.
Now…before I get into specifics, there’s one thing you need to know about these two drinks. They are the SAME THING with the exception of one ingredient…coffee.
So when making this recipe, if you want the Java Chip Frappuccino, add a shot of espresso. If you want the Double Chocolate Chip Frappuccino…don’t add it. Simple as that! Now let’s get started!
At Starbucks, the Java Chip Frappuccino consists of whole milk, mocha sauce, a blending base, coffee base, java ships, ice, whip cream, and mocha drizzle. This makes it pretty easy to make from home! The Double Chocolate Chip is made exactly the same minus the coffee base.
To make your own copycat Starbucks Java Chip (and Double Chocolate Chip) Frappuccino, these are the ingredients you’ll need on hand:
Grab yourself a blender and add 1 cup of ice, 1 cup of milk (Starbucks uses whole milk), 1 shot of espresso (leave out for double chocolate chip), 1 1/2 tbsp chocolate chips, and 2 tbsp of mocha sauce.
Blend until you have a nice smooth consistency.
Add more milk or some of the mocha sauce if you want a more creamy texture.
Pour your contents into your cup and top the drink with whip cream and mocha sauce and you have your very own Java Chip Frappuccino!
If you’re used to getting the Cream Based version of this Frappuccino for your kids, just don’t add a shot of espresso to this recipe and viola! Two recipes in one! You’ll have your Double Chocolate Chip Frappuccino!
