The miniatures keep getting cuter and cuter! Yesterday I showed you the miniature octopus and whale amigurumi crochet sea creatures, today I have a dragon!

NansyOops

Isn’t this the most adorable little dragon you ever did see? The amount of detail is freaking mind blowing! That little face! Those little itty bitty wings! I want to hug it with my fingertips!

NansyOops

As a professional photographer I am mesmerized. I am sitting here thinking of all sorts of ways I could photograph these tiny little dragons. This would be so entertaining for me right now!

NansyOops

The pattern is by NansyOops, the same lady that designed the tiny octopus! This pattern has 25 pages of instructional material and has 140 photos! If you are like me, then you need the visual as well as the written instructions.

However, you can get one completely made and ready to hold right from etsy!

NansyOops

This one is called ‘Crochet pattern Dragon El’Ejin‘. It measures just tiny 2 cm and basic crochet skills are a prerequisite.

NansyOops

Y’all, the head tilt! I just can’t get over it! As with the octopus, I will require one in every color!

NansyOops

I don’t know about you, but I just want one completely done and ready to hold, pose and take pictures of. If that is what you want, you can order your Mini Baby Dragon Here.

If you are making your own, in addition to the pattern, you will need:

Embroidery floss in Main Color, skein separated (stripped) into individual strands. (I use Kirov Yarn Mills Mouline for Embrodeiry or DMC brand cotton embroidery floss). May be substituted with thin sewing thread. The thinner the thread, the smaller the dragon will turn out.
• Embroidery floss in an additional color for the wings, scales, and tail.
• A length of black sewing thread for the eyebrows and nostrils.
• A length of white sewing thread for the white of the eye.
• Rip-resistant thread for cinching. (I used sturdy sewing thread held double.)
• Crochet hook 0.5 mm [US Steel Crochet Hook Size 18].
• Glass toy eyes diameter 2 mm [0.01 in]. I ordered mine from AliExpress. (What to do if eyes in this size are not available? You can make your own from polymer clay and cover them with a glossy enamel finish, or use seed beads.)
• Glue gel, “Moment” brand super glue.
• Thin beading needle, diameter 0.45 mm [0.02 in].
• Sharp nail scissors.
• Stuffing (polyester fiberfil).
• A toothpick or broken felting needle – used to insert stuffing.
• For blushing – oil pastel and toothpick.

    1. Definitely going to take that recommendation! ❤️ any tips for a beginner? ? i think the way I hold my work is the problem since my squares (single and double stitch involved) are always crooked. or I am just doing it wrong. ?

      1. it just takes lots of practice. I used to crochet a lot & got really good at it. But I stopped & I don’t remember why now but I have to start all over relearning how to do it well again. So I am right there with you! Like a beginner! Don’t give up, just keep at it!!! You will slowly begin to get better &better. Tackle small projects like scarves. Granny squares are fairly easy & are fun to work. And they are good for practicing squares & gauge. You will eventually get good at it so don’t give up!! You can do it, I have faith in you!!!??????????

      2. I’ve been told the reason mine comes out uneven is because or the tension. I apparently don’t always hold the yarn with the same tension, some times I pull it tighter than other times. Learning to relax and try to hold it as tight helped mine get more even. But I have to use a millon stitch counter/marker things because I can’t keep count to save my life. I seriously lose count so often that I spend more time counting than I do crocheting. It’s really annoying. Not sure there is a way to fix that. I try to pay attention but it just doesn’t work. It takes at least twice as long as it should to do anything.

General question? Can you use this pattern and much larger thread? I think these are adorable but my eyes are no were near good enough to do anything this small. I’d be perfectly fine with it being several inches big. The 4″ -6: range would be cute too. Not as cute as the tiny ones. But I could live with that. So can I use the same pattern and just use a standard crocheting thread to make these? Obviously I’d need to come up with a large eye. But that should be the only real change? Right?
Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestion for a girl with poor eye site to be able to make one of these?

  13. They are adorable, wish I could make them too
Do you make any to sell?
If so I’d love to buy some for my family ???

  15. I also would buy them. They are SO cute, but my eyesight wouldn’t allow me to make something this tiny. Please put me on your “sell” list.
