Amazon Prime members take note: according to a new report, Amazon plans to drop Whole Foods notoriously high prices and make the Amazon Prime Rewards their new discount program. What does that mean for you? If you’re someone who loves amazing food, but hates high prices, this is your Superbowl! Didn’t think you cared that Amazon bought Whole Foods? You might now!

There are a lot of reasons to love Amazon Prime, but my new favorite might be shopping at Whole Foods. Or, if Jeff Bezos has my back, getting Whole Foods delivered directly to my front door. That’s right. Amazon is said to be offering discounts to Prime members, and I can’t be more excited.

Sure, a lot of us want to eat healthier, but who can really afford it? Maybe with these discounts things like organic fruits and vegetables will be more readily available for the rest of us. Cage-free eggs? Yes, please! How about hormone-free meats and milks? There are so many reasons to love fresh and healthier-for-you foods, but until now the prices have been outrageous. I mean, who can afford an organic apple at $2.49 per pound when we can get regular ol’ Galas for $0.99 cents per pound? For people with kids, there is no question: we want as healthy as we can get. But, if you have kids that also means you likely have a pretty significant budget and unfortunately sometimes that makes the area between healthy and affordable a pretty grey area.

So what do you need to know about these discounts? The biggest thing to know is that they’ll start as soon as Monday. Yes. Monday. Sad news for your kiddo’s who might not be the biggest fans of baby kale, but amazing news for us. Jeff Wilke, CEO of AmazonWorldwide Consumer, said, “a selection of best-selling grocery staples, including Whole Trade organic bananas, responsibly-farmed salmon, organic large brown eggs, animal-welfare-rated 85% lean ground beef, and more,” will be discounted.

Not only does this news mean cheaper groceries for all, but these discounts extend to those on government assistance programs, too. So if you combine WIC and assistance cards with your Prime membership, you can expect some pretty steep cuts to the price of your grocery bill.

One more amazing perk? Because Amazon bought Whole Foods, Whole Foods is now expanding to previously untapped areas. Meaning, more stores opening and more job openings for those looking for work.
