Elon Musk Has Officially Taken Over Twitter and Fired Its Top Executives

Well, it happened.

Elon Musk is the new proud owner of Twitter and he paid a whopping $44 Billion to acquire it.

Just months after his offer was accepted by Twitter, it has been completed.

Elon’s first order of business?

Firing of top executives.

According to reports, Elon Musk fired CEO Parag Agrawal and two other executives including CFO Ned Segal and policy head Vijaya Gadde.

If you’re wondering why Elon wanted to buy Twitter to begin with, in a press release, Elon said:

“Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated”

He continued:

“I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans.”

As of right now, we have no idea what the future of Twitter will look like but we do know that Elon seems to moving fast to make Twitter be what he has envisioned it.
