Have you been waiting for a FedEx package, but haven’t yet gotten it?

It’s possible that your package was sitting at the bottom of a ravine in Alabama! Yep, I’m serious.

On Wednesday, hundreds of packages were found dumped into a ravine in Blount County, Alabama — which is about 40 miles northeast of Birmingham.

How in the world did a bunch of packages end up dumped in a ravine? They don’t exactly know.

The discarded packages were found on someone’s private property — about 300 to 400 packages! And they had just been dumped, like someone didn’t want to deal with them.

The Blount County Sheriff’s Office responded to a tip on Wednesday that all the packages had been found. They don’t know what happened, but they say they are going to have some answers pretty soon.

I bet you someone is about to be hella fired!!

Now, lest you freak out that you might not get your package, don’t worry!

Someone from FedEx showed up on the scene, and immediately started dispatching other drivers to help with the packages.

By sunrise on Thursday, they had started loading the packages onto different FedEx trucks from “all over the south,” and began making a dent in the discarded packages.

These FedEx workers spent their Thanksgiving day, working to ensure that these packages were taken care of.

The Blount County Sheriff’s Office posted updates on their Facebook page all Thursday afternoon, and you can see the mess of packages just dumped, and the FedEx workers diligently working to clean up and recover all the packages.

“We are taking steps to recover and transport the affected packages as quickly as possible,” the statement said. “In addition to cooperating with law enforcement, we are conducting a review of this situation and will take the appropriate action.”

The good news here is that people WILL be getting their packages. It is quite possible that might not have been the case if the packages hadn’t been found.

The bad news, of course, is that they might not get to their intended recipients as fast as originally planned.

Thank you to the Blount County Sheriff’s Office and FedEx for quickly responding to, and dealing with, this cleanup and delivery effort.
