Gin Thyme Lemonade
Move over, Mikes, there’s a new favorite hard lemonade in town. This recipe for Gin Thyme Lemonade is one of my favorite summer treats. It has all the fun of a spiked lemonade with a delicious infusion of herbs. It’s smooth and sweet, hard and soft. It’s the taste of sitting on your porch at dusk and watching the fireflies flicker in the distance – all in a glass. So sit back on that porch swing, snuggle in close to your honey, and get ready to enjoy something truly delicious.
What You Need To Make Gin Thyme Lemonade:
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 cup water
- 5 sprigs fresh thyme
- 4 cups cold water
- 1 1/2 cups fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 1 cup gin
- thyme (for garnish)
How To Make Gin Thyme Lemonade:
Begin by making a thyme infused simple syrup: In a medium saucepan combine sugar, 1 cup water, and thyme.
Bring to a boil, stirring constantly until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat, cover with a lid, cool for 15 minutes, then remove and discard thyme.
In a glass pitcher, combine the thyme infused simple syrup, remaining water, lemon juice, and gin. Stir until well blended. Serve cold with ice and thyme garnish. Enjoy!
Pro Tip: Herb-infused simple syrup can be stored in an air tight container in your refrigerator for up to two weeks. Try other herbal combinations but remember to always use fresh herbs rather than dried for the best possible flavor. Enjoy!
