The Police Are Warning Parents to Check Halloween Candy for THC this year and it’s worth knowing about.
Johnstown Police Department in Pennsylvania is warning parents to check Halloween Candy for possible THC-laced candy.
According to the Facebook post, they said:
“**ATTENTION** The Johnstown Police would like to draw extra attention to the Nerds Rope edibles containing 400mg of THC found during a search warrant in Stoney Creek Twp.
During this Halloween, we urge parents to be ever vigilant in checking their children’s candy before allowing them to consume those treats. Drug laced edibles are package like regular candy and may be hard to distinguish from the real candy.”
While some people are quick to comment saying the labels clearly say “keep out of reach of children and animals”
Others are commenting saying they were confused at what it was.
And that is the thing. I can tell you that to me, I wouldn’t even know what to look for and the Nerds Rope totally looks like the original candy.
In fact, the Southern District of West Virginia posted an image of the two candies side by side.
Again, if you weren’t actually looking for it, you probably wouldn’t even realize it contained THC.
Now, as much as it is a good idea to check your kids candy either way, keep in mind THC-laced candy is expensive so its highly unlikely someone will actually be passing it out on Halloween.
But, either way, this is good to note.
