It’s official – Hogwarts Legacy is here! And if you are just getting started, you may be wondering how the wand selection works in Hogwarts Legacy so, let’s break that down.
The First Wand Wizards and Witches Receive
In the game, the first wand you receive is a hand-me-down wand. Don’t worry, this wand isn’t the wand you’ll keep throughout the game.
As you play the game, you’ll eventually make your way to Ollivanders where you can find the perfect wand for you.
Or should I say, the perfect wand will find you.
After trying out several different wands that don’t work for you, there will be one last try and that want will sort of choose you.
Now, if you’ve linked your Harry Potter Fan Club and WB Games accounts, you will be given the wand associated with your Harry Potter Fan Club account. If not, you’ll be given a random wand.
The best part is, you can either keep the wand that chose you, or you can customize your wand’s style, wood, flexibility, length, and core.
But this is very important – once you choose your wand for your character, there is no going back. That is your wand for the remainder of the game. So, choose wisely.
What is the best wand in Hogwarts Legacy?
The wand you choose comes down to personal preference, and overall aesthetic appeal. The customizations or choices made on the wand does not affect how powerful the wand is. So, go with a wand you are happy with because once you choose it, you cannot change it.
Can you change your wand in Harry Potter Legacy?
No. Once you choose your want at Ollivanders, you cannot change your wand. You will however be able to find wand handles as you play the game which can customize the overall appearance of your wand.
How many different types of wands are in Hogwarts Legacy?
In Hogwarts legacy, there are eight different styles of wands to choose from with three colors each, for a total of 24 options.
However, there is also 36 different types of wood you can choose from. You can also choose how long your wand is anywhere from 9 ½ to 14 ½ inches, in quarter-inch increments. There are also 19 options for flexibility to choose from for your wand. Lastly, you’ll choose your wand core from 1 of 3 different options including: Dragon Heartstring, Unicorn Hair and Phoenix Feather.
This amount of variations give you the ability to make your wand unique.
