Jim Carrey is retiring from acting and I’m not okay about it.

Jim Carrey has been one of the only people that can make you laugh so hard, it hurts and now, that laughter may only live through his old movies.

In a recent interview with Access, Jim Carrey broke the news about his retirement.

While Jim is honored by Dolly Parton’s recent words saying she wanted Carrey to play her music partner Porter Wagoner, he says it would take the perfect script to bring him out of retirement.

“Well, I’m retiring…Probably. I’m being fairly serious, yeah,” he admitted.

He continued…

“It depends if the angels bring some sort of script that’s written in gold ink that says it’s really going to be important for people to see. I might continue down the road, but I’m taking a break. I really like my quiet life, and I really love putting paint on canvas. I really love my spiritual life and I feel like… and this is something that you might never hear another celebrity say as long as time exists, ‘I have enough. I’ve done enough. I am enough.'”

On one hand, I totally understand why he wants to retire but on the other, he is a fantastic actor and I hope to see more from him that can bring us joy and laughter!
