There’s Currently a Nationwide Shortage of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and If You Need Me, I’ll Be in the Corner Crying
Keep calm and eat more Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, or at least the bags you can find at the grocery store!
The fan-favorite and spicy chip made for a hot tongue is currently difficult to find and seek; while demand for the hot crunch is high, it’s become increasingly harder to snag a bag to eat on the couch.
You may have noticed the empty shelves that typically stock the crunchy chip or the raging outcries on TikTok explaining that the bags are nearly impossible to find.
So while you might feel the need to run and not walk to the nearest grocery store, it may not be that easy to find the red hot chip.
Is There a Shortage of Frito Lay’s Flamin’ Hot Cheetos?
Yes, unfortunately there’s a nationwide shortage of the popular bag with flames on the front even though Frito-Lay says that they’re still producing the chip via Twitter!
The bright red chip that leaves a trail of red seasoning behind on your fingertips is in such high demand that Frito-Lay has hired over 15,000 new employees to help support the strong consumer demand.
“Our strategic investments across key manufacturing sites have significantly expanded our capacity to support strong consumer demand,” said PepsiCo Foods North America chief executive Steven Williams.
So while you’re currently searching high and low for bags with Chester the Cheetah, here’s hoping that the shortage doesn’t last too long so we can soon crush the chip for a spicy seasoning with wings or for a satisfying crunch in our sandwiches.
