Netflix Is Finally Cracking Down On Password Sharing So Get Ready to Get Your Own Account
We’ve known it’s coming, but the time is finally here.
Netflix is finally cracking down on password sharing, which means we’re all going to actually have to get our own accounts.
We are no longer going to be able to share our password with anyone outside of our immediate household.
Well, kinda.
If you still want to share that password, there is going to be a paid option for doing just that.
Today’s widespread account sharing (100M+ households) undermines our long-term ability to invest in and improve Netflix, as well as build our business.

Now, I’m not 100% sure how it’s going to work, but get ready.
Netflix hasn’t confirmed exactly when this paid version of passwords sharing is going to go into effect.
They also haven’t told us exactly how much it’s going to cost to give someone outside of our household our Netflix password.
But, according to Forbes, we know it “will come in later in the first quarter of this year, which would suggest you can expect them to be in place by the end of March.”
While our terms of use limit use of Netflix to a household, we recognize this is a change for members who share their account more broadly. — As we roll out paid sharing, members in many countries will also have the option to pay extra if they want to share Netflix with people they don’t live with.

So, bottom line, binge watch everything on Netflix NOW. Come March, you’re gonna have to pay for it.
