Who Is This New Blippi, And What Happened To The Old One?
If your kids are addicted to the larger-than-life character that is Blippi, you may have noticed Blippi looks just a little different.
Stevin John, the creator of Blippi, is apparently needing a little help in the world of Blippi, so there is now a second Blippi in town.
This all started when parents were ENRAGED that Stevin wasn’t going to be showing up as his famous character in the live Blippi shows.
People had already bought their tickets and everything, and then they found out Blippi was being swapped for a stage actor that wasn’t Stevin — like kids wouldn’t notice that?!?
I mean sure, Blippi would still be acting over the top, and wearing his trademark orange eyeglasses, hat, bowtie and suspenders, but people thought they were paying for Stevin, and instead they were getting an imposter of sorts.
Steven has embodied the persona that is Blippi since 2014, and even though this stage actor — Clayton Grimm — kinda looks similar to Blippi, it’s just not the same thing.
In a move that is reminiscent of when Blue’s Clues lost Steve, this week saw Grimm show up as Blippi in a new Learn with Blippi show on Saturday morning.

Fans and parents immediately chimed in — as if no one would notice.
It turns out — there are now going to be TWO Blippis.
Blippi, Stevin John, isn’t going anywhere. John will continue to bounce and beep his way through family-friendly attractions in videos to come, with Grimm — helming a set-based format that’s more in line with the Blippi stage show, which will resume touring this summer.

In order to bring out more Blippi content, they are going to split the programming between the TWO Blippis.
I mean, shouldn’t they call him Bloppi or Flippi or something different? Having two different Blippis is not going to fly with kids or parents.

We just started watching the New Blippi. It definitely took me by surprise but my daughter didn’t say anything at all. I actually really love him as Blippi.
I noticed several months ago that Blippi looked different My grandchildren did not notice and continue to enjoy watching the show. Clayton does a great job of imitating the original Blippi. Give it a rest all you haters. The show is still entertaining, educational and fun watching a grown man act like he’s a 4 yr old.
My kiddo is happily watching new Blippi and is not phased. I said nothing and she didn’t bat an eyelash at the swap. Of course, Stevin John has a life and as a soon-to-be dad I am glad he will be able to have time with his new family.
Grandson did not enjoy “new” blippi!!
Will be looking elsewhere for kids learning entertainment and toys…..
@Frances, yes, God forbid Steven John (the guy who plays Blippi) has a life outside of entertaining your grandson. I’m sorry it’s so infuriating that you now feel the need to boycott Blippi, instead of just watching older episodes.
Funny how I noticed and thought my grandson would not. He said no Blippi and to stop. Went to another episode with real Blippi and he was happy as can be.
I don’t think the kids could care less. Blippi isn’t real right? It’s a character.

The new guy is a fraud! Blippi has a certain voice and actually makes the show and blippi who he is
The new guy needs to have a different character ans not be the same blipping or even try because it literally ruins it ! Kinda upsetting to see if he wants to keep blippi going he has to actually be the blippi my sons very upset about this and tells me to find the right blippi that this isn’t him! Blippi just go on vacation and come back .

@Gabby, I agree. There is always room for more, but the new one definitely needs his own name and maybe be Blippis brother, cousin, or even best friend. Why lie to the kids? Why would I want to make my child feel like he/she is going crazy bc its very obviously not the same Blippi. Would of been pretty cool Blippi having his new best friend Blippo join the show. Blippi and Blippo can go on so many cool adventures, I can picture it already.
I guess people don’t like change…as soon it happens they go straight to negativity. The new blippi does such a great job, even with the movements. My two years old didn’t notice.
It was obvious to me, a grandmother, that Blippi had changed. The smile, the pitch of his voice and dancing. But I have to give credit to those choosing him. He is so close I thought they could be brothers. I personally have no problem with this. The show still has the same message!!

My son and girl I varsity refuses to watch NEW BLIPPI they say uhhhh thats not Blippi and he is not funny. Can we watch BLIPPI.
I think it’s disingenuous. Say Blippi and friends and add helpers but to try to have two of the same character, is befuddling to me. I can only imagine how this will translate to the kids.

My son actually noticed it was the wrong Blippi and he shut it off and turned on The Octonauts instead. He still watches Blippi on youtube and he will show me and say It’s the right Blippi

We put the Blippi show on Netflix and my son right away says “That’s not blippi, that looks like tio”
He kinda looks like his uncle.. 😂 So I had to put the real Blippi on YouTube.. Kids are very smart!!
It’s not the same. I agree they could make him an alternate character called another name… bloppi, flippi or whatever except Steven feels the alternate will outshine him. I thought I was going crazy seeing two different people

My son is almost 6. Today he ran up to me and said “Blippi is on Netflix! He’s on my tablet!” I looked over his shoulder and realised it’s a different guy, but he’s doing a good job of acting like the real one. I haven’t seen if his dance skills are up to snuff yet; and idk if the music is the same. But my son is happy and now I have more reason to leave YouTube off.
I noticed straight away and asked my 3 year old if he was a different blippi, he said yeah but I just love blippi. So as long as the kids are happy still, who cares who’s under the suit. They’re as irritating and hyper and childish as each other,a different actor, practically the same voice, exactly the same character, so why on earth the grown ups are complaining about this, I don’t know 😂 Unless you’re actually just watching it for your own entertainment…in which case fair enough. And maybe get a life 🤷🏻♀️
What. In. The. World? No thank you, Blippi!!! I agree with you guys, just dishonest. If you are going to have a second, change it up more. Who is that chick with him on some YouTube vids? That would have been perfect for her to do some of her own videos for Netflix. Maybe call it Adventures of Blippi and Mia (if that’s her name), and he can show up a few times in the series. Just disappointed in John. I think he’s outgrown his britches/jeans. Gotten too rich and thus arrogant.

My daughter 3.5 years old and has wateched Blippi (Steven John) for three months on Youtube.
This morning, she opened TV and sign in Netflix and she saw Blippi in the screen. She was so excited because of familiar Blippi character on the screen. But she immediatedly recognised that was a different Blippi so she returned to Youtubekids to see her favourite Blippi.
This is going to make blippi lose fans. People are paying for the real blippi. It’s kinda dishonest. I was going to pay for an upcoming show but if the real blippi not going to be there I don’t think I am.
