I’m sorry, WHAT?!?

Odwalla — those smoothies with the addictive flavor — is shutting down production this month, and you won’t be able to find them anymore. Like, ever.

The Coca Cola company, who purchased the smoothie brand back in 2001, is discontinuing all Odwalla drinks, and I am SUPER not happy about it.

Given a rapidly shifting marketplace and despite every effort to support continued production and delivery services, The Coca-Cola Company has made the decision to discontinue the Odwalla brand and its products and to dissolve the chilled Direct Store Delivery (DSD) distribution network after July 31, 2020.

I’m going to need just a minute to digest this news.

This decision was not made lightly and comes at a time when it is more important than ever to evaluate where we can improve efficiencies in our business and operations

The Odwalla brand has been around since 1980. I grew up drinking the smoothies. They have been perfect for a breakfast on the go or a midday snack.

When anyone in my family has a cold, we down the Orange or Strawberry varieties that are packed with vitamin C. They totally help us fight off the germs, and get on the mend so much quicker*!

I am truly devastated by this news. *Sad Face*

While the smoothies and juices are packed with real fruits and vegetables, the brand’s offering were often criticized since, per serving, many of the beverages boasted a higher sugar content than soda.

People are moving away from sugary drinks, so that means Odwalla has seen a decline in sales over the last couple of years. This has helped the company make the decision to shut up shop on these tasty treats.

According to Today, stores will receive their final shipments of Odwalla smoothies in July.

People have until the end of August to get their hands on the remaining stash. All non purchased inventory will be picked up by the company at that time.

Now excuse me, while I go cry into my Froot Loops.

* Of course, that claim isn’t substantiated, but I believe it to be true.
