It’s that time of year when the weather changes from hot to cold, and just about everyone comes down with some type of cold.

Every year it happens — unfortunately — and we try every remedy to help us fight the sickness and feel better.

The Starbucks Medicine Ball Tea — off the Starbucks Secret Menu — is one go-to remedy that helps soothe the throat.

But, thanks to TikTok, we have another remedy to fight that pesky cold bug.

It doesn’t taste as good as the Medicine Ball, but people are swearing by it, and you just might want to give it a try.

What is this cold-fighting remedy, you ask?

Onion Water.

Wait, before you say, “EW!!,” hear me out.

Many are crediting this little drink to TikTok @Poshmomma2, but it’s a cold busting remedy that has been used for years by grandmas everywhere.

The severe pressure I was feeling in my head and my ears is completely gone.

How Do You Make Cold-Fighting Onion Water?

It’s quite simple, really.

You just get a red or yellow onion, and chop it up.

I use the Vidalia Food Chopper, because it makes my life so much easier. But, you do you, Boo.

After you cut up the onion, dump it in a cup, and fill the cup up with water until the onions are covered.

Now, you want to cover it with plastic wrap, and let it sit and marinate.

All that onion juice needs to be released into the water, so let it hang out and soak for about 8 to 10 hours.

Then, you put on your big girl panties — because let’s face it, it tastes like onions — and drink that water down.

You can add a touch of honey, if you want. It makes it sweeter, and helps it go down just a wee bit easier.

But, give it a try.

Everyone is swearing by this Onion Water, and it might just work for you, too.
