Peloton Recalls 2.2 Million Exercise Bikes
It seems like not long ago, Peloton was facing a safety recall for their treadmills.
Well, now they are facing another big recall, and you might want to listen up.
Peloton is in the middle of recalling more than 2 million exercise bicycles — model number PL01 — over safety concerns, and I know so many people that are going to be affected by this recall.
These Peloton bikes were sold at Peloton and Dick’s Sporting Goods stores, and online at Onepeloton.com, Amazon.com, and Dicksportinggoods.com between January 2018 and May 2023.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission just put out a release regarding Peloton bikes, and it seems they can cause major harm to consumers.
Apparently, the Peloton bike seat posts can break during use. Yikes. Not something you want to happen while you’re in the middle of a workout.
Side Note: I always KNEW exercise could hurt you!!
The broken seats can lead to serious fall injuries or other hazards to people using the Peloton bike.
Unfortunately, this seat breakage isn’t just theory. The Peloton seats have already caused 35 reports of the seat post breaking. It actually detaches from the bike during use.
According to the CPSC, 13 of these reported incidents of injuries include a fractured wrist, lacerations, and bruises.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled exercise bikes and contact Peloton for a free repair. Peloton is offering consumers a free seat post that can be self-installed.

So basically, stop using the bike immediately, and contact Peloton for a new seat.
Be safe out there!!
