The Portal That Connects NYC To Ireland Has Officially Reopened With Some Changes Due to Inappropriate Behavior
New York has added some pretty cool additions to the neighborhood recently.
If you haven’t heard, the Big Apple has had a new art installation dubbed The Portal, open to the public.

The Portal, which connects NYC to Dublin, Ireland looks like the portals you see in superhero movies but works exactly like FaceTime.
So if you have any friends in Ireland and are near the Flatiron Building on your way to work, make sure to toss up a wave as you walk past the portal!

Now the cool thing about this portal is that it broadcasts a real-time, visual live stream that connects the two iconic cities, and was officially opened sometime last week!
Although because of inappropriate behavior, The Portal was temporarily shut down, but was most recently opened back up to residents and visitors.

With its grand reopening, The Portal is up and running again for those who pass by to wave to those who are living in Dublin.
However, NYC has implemented a few changes.

The Portal will now be live from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day in New York, while the Portal’s hours in Dublin will open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m, with both cities adding new security measures.

While Dublin hasn’t been specific on their new security, New York has introduced fencing around the portal and signs that tell individuals where to stand for the best view.
The location of The Portal on New York’s side will also have security on site.

You can currently visit The Portal in NYC on the Flatiron South Public Plaza at Broadway, Fifth Avenue, and 23rd Street, next to the famed Flatiron Building!
