This Guy Planted Thousands of Flowers That Bloomed Into A Stunning ‘Starry Night’ Garden
At the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, there is a beautiful sight to behold!
I’m pretty certain that we all know the famous painting, ‘Starry Night’ by Vincent van Gogh, painted in 1889.
The Grand Hotel has created a garden with hyacinths that’s a living recreation of ‘Starry Night’.
The 200-square-foot garden was created by Drew Butterfield, the senior director of the Grand Hotel grounds.
This was a solo project and that just blows my mind! He planted 8,000 hyacinth bulbs last year using colors from the painting.
He used shades of purple, yellow, and white hyacinth flowers used to recreate the oil painting.
It was a wait-and-see sort of thing because he had to wait for the flowers to bloom to see if it worked.
I really didn’t know how it was going to work out. It was a long winter of waiting.

I would say he absolutely nailed it and this is visually stunning!
If you have a chance to visit Mackinac Island you can visit the garden at the Grand Hotel to see this amazing garden in person.
He also has another creation there called ‘The Secret Garden’.
