Super Simple Birthday Party Ideas For Tweens

When my daughter turned eleven, I realized that it was pretty much the weirdest birthday party time of ALL. She wanted to have a “super cool birthday party” but didn’t exactly know what that meant.

And, um– neither did I.

I did some thinking and came up with a plan. A plan that I would like to call “THE VERY COOLEST BIRTHDAY PARTY OF ALL TIME.”

But, I didn’t want anything complicated. Because I don’t have time for complicated in my life. Who does?

And this is how I planned the super simple tween birthday.

I started with a cotton candy machine. (Okay, I know that doesn’t SOUND simple, but all you do is call a party rental company and they drop off the machine at your house, set it up bring all the sugar and everything you need.)

The cotton machine, as you can see, was a big hit. (Also, I am pretty sure this isn’t the correct way to make cotton candy, but they didn’t care. They just liked making it themselves.

And once we’d all had our fill of sugar, I set up a projector in the driveway for us all to watch movies. (I love the ZTE – Spro 2 Wireless Smart DLP Projector from Best Buy because it was super easy to set up and since it has a built in battery, you don’t need any cords.)

My favorite part of this tiny projector is seriously that it is smaller than your HAND.

We spent the entire evening outside watching YouTube videos. Because everyone knows that when you’re eleven, YouTube videos is way better than anything else you might want to watch. Which pretty much made this the perfect birthday party for tweens.
