This Kindergarten Teacher Shares a Heartbreaking Video of Her Bare Classroom
Many of the school supplies and most of the decor provided in the classroom are thanks to the teachers.
Most recently, a Kindergarten teacher went to social media to share her frustrations with what little was provided in her room and to show just how bare the classroom really was before school started.
@progressivemama who posted a video on TikTok showing what her classroom looked like before school starts and the results are shocking and upsetting.
Upon surveying her classroom, the unusually bare classroom had nothing but desks, a few cabinets, some shelving, and chairs.
“So frustrated going into my classroom today,” her caption wrote. “No shelves for a classroom library. The desks are weird for a Kindergarten class. No cabinets. No rug. No left over supplies or books. How much of my own money am i expected to spend?”

“This does not feel like a kindergarten classroom,” she mentioned throughout filming. “There’s nothing. There’s not even a teacher desk.”

Since her post, the video has gone viral with over 60k likes and over 2k comments with many users agreeing with the creator’s post.
“Yup!! That’s all you get. Desks, chairs, and textbooks. That’s what people don’t realize. We buy EVERYTHING,” said one user.

Luckily, friends and family were able to donate supplies to fill her classroom and while this specific story had a happy ending, other teachers aren’t so lucky, which is why school teachers deserve so much better.
