The first flyover today is going to starts at about noon.
This will start at the George Washington Bridge. From there they will fly along the Hudson River going south. Then they will fly over the counties of Bergen, Hudson, Union, and Essex.
They will then head east toward New York City as well as parts of Connecticut and Long Island, New York.
This will be a 40-minute flight and will end at about 12:40 PM by Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, which runs through Staten Island and Brooklyn.
The second flyover will last for about 30 minutes and end around 2:15 PM. It will start at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in Burlington County.
From there they will head northwest toward Trenton, flying along the Delaware River and on into Philadelphia. This flight will end about Gloucester and Salem County near the Delaware River.
If you are lucky enough to be near this flight path, then you will be able to watch 12 high-performance jets flying with amazing skills! If you have never been able to watch, it truly is a sight to see!
These flights are being done to honor medical workers all over the United States!
I have heard people say that this is a waste of money, but what you have to realize, these guys need their flight time regardless. All of their shows have been canceled due to the pandemic.
It also fulfills critical training requirements for both teams. Pilots must execute a minimum number of flight hours to maintain proficiency. These flyovers will incur no additional cost to taxpayers.U.S. Air Force Statement
