This easy recipe for a Toasted Tuna Salad Sandwich is fast food done right. Next time your kids are hungry now, reach for the cabinet instead of the keys.
- 1 can family sized tuna
- 1/3 cup mayo (or Miracle Whip if you want it tangy)
- 1/2 small onion, diced
- 1 large pickle, diced
- 1 rib celery, diced
- wheat bread, toasted
- sliced tomato
- Drain water from can of tuna.
- In a medium size bowl, combine tuna, mayo, onion, pickle, and celery until well blended.
- Slather onto toasted wheat bread, add tomato and lettuce, and enjoy!
For an even more unique flavor, try changing up the ingredients. A family favorite in my home is diced apple. Jicima is another fun tuna add-in. It doesn’t change the flavor, but it adds to the crunch. Yum!
