USPS Is Increasing Their Holiday Shipping Rates. Here’s What We Know.
If you do holiday shipping every year, you’ll want to prepare for an increase in shipping charges this year.
USPS just announced that they are temporarily increasing shipping fees this holiday season.
Why?
Well, it’s no surprise that due to the coronavirus pandemic, record-breaking shipping volumes, and Congress not helping them out; they need to raise rates to help them cover the increased costs.
Beginning October 18th and running through December 27, 2020, a temporary rate increase will be as follows:
- First Class Package: 25 cents/package
- Priority Mail (including Flat Rate, Regional Rate, and Cubic): 40 cents/package
- Parcel Select Ground: 40 cents/package
- Priority Mail Express: $1.50/package
Now, that isn’t huge change in pricing. In fact, USPS is still the cheapest way to ship packages!
I plan to still ship my packages with them even with the rate increase.
After all, the best thing we can do right now is help USPS by giving them our business to ship packages and maybe even buying stamps and other shipping supplies from them.
