How to Make Very Blueberry Sugar Scrub:

You know what’s really weird about this whole thing? This blueberry sugar scrub ends up looking more purple than blue when you’re done with it, so that whole intro paragraph was totally unnecessary. But hey, that’s the Totally the Bomb way of life. To make your very purple blueberry sugar scrub, you’ll need to put the freeze-dried blueberries in a sealed Ziploc bag and crush them. Just, seriously, crush them. You can use a rolling pin, a meat tenderizer…whatever you usually like to use to smash things. Then, combine the cane sugar, blueberry dust, and blue sugar sprinkles in a small mixing bowl.

You should probably mix this up a little bit, but if you’re in a rebellious sort of mood, you don’t have to. For the recipe-followers among you: those are your dry ingredients. Your wet ingredients are the coconut oil and vanilla extract; add those two things and stir it up until you’ve got the perfect purple sugar scrub mixture.

If you want to get super fancy and give this to someone as a gift, you can garnish the completed blueberry sugar scrub with any of the freeze-dried blueberries that you didn’t smash to pieces. This is an awesome organic recipe that works great as both an exfoliant and as a moisturizer. Or as a really cute picture on your Instagram. You know, whatever you want to do with it.

  1. If you do make this for someone as a gift, be sure to let them know that it’s a sugar scrub and that it’s not food! The picture with the blueberries on top almost makes it look like it’s some kind of blueberry dessert. Although I suppose they’re not going to do much harm if they did try to eat it 😉

  2. I love the natural ones – this looks great! Thank you for sharing it with us at the #HomeMattersParty
