A lady in Wales broke one hip, AND completely dislocated the other hip, when the car she was riding in got into a car accident.

The reason? Her feet were propped up on the dashboard when the accident happened.

I’ll admit it. When I am riding in the passenger seat of a car, I totally like to get all comfy. I lay the seat back a couple notches, and prop my feet up on the dashboard.

Especially if it’s a gorgeous day! I roll down that window, the seat goes back, the feet go up, and the radio gets loud.

Turns out, propping my feet on the dashboard probably isn’t the wisest choice — although it is, by far, the most comfortable choice.

If you are involved in a car accident, and your feet are laying on the dashboard, your life could be irreparably changed. You might live — but you won’t be the same.

It only takes an instant, a mere heartbeat. You may not even realize what has happened. You’re fine one minute, and the next, your hips could look like this passenger in the Wales accident.

Sergeant Ian Price, of Dyfed–Powys Police in Wales, posted the picture of the X-ray to issue a warning so other front seat passengers do not relax with their feet up.

“Here is an X-ray of horrific injuries sustained to the front seat passenger who had their feet on the dashboard at the time of a collision.

If you see your passenger doing it stop driving and show them this.”

See, the airbag could pop out of that dashboard, and send your legs flying. Those legs will probably fly straight toward your face. You will be LUCKY if you don’t break your hips, but you could be left permanently scarred.

In 2017, one Georgia lady was left with a broken nose, leg, and shoulder after her car was t-boned at a stop sign. She is still in recovery, and her life will never be the same.

I regret it every single day. Every hour of every day because every time I put pressure on my leg i feel it….Do not sit like that. If you sit like that you’re asking for it.

I know it will be hard, but I will never put my feet up on the dashboard again. It may may not be as comfortable, but broken hips and legs aren’t very comfortable, either.
