Pour 1/4 cup of oil into your griddle and turn the burner on somewhere between hot and medium
Peel your potatoes – or just wait to peel them until you’re about to make another hashbrown…no need to rush and do them all at once.
Grate your potatoes like cheese!
Make a little pile of grated potato in the hot oil (be careful!) and flatten it out gently with the spatula
When you can see the edges getting golden brown, flip it! flip it good!
Pull those hashbrowns off the griddle onto the plate and salt to taste as you see the edges getting a little past golden and into “browned”
EAT! (with or without ketchup)
