Citrus Herb Refresher

An easy way to feel healthier is with this citrus herb refresher. It's only a few ingredients and a reminder to take some time out for yourself.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lemon
  • 1 lime
  • 2-3 sprigs of mint
  • water
  • five minutes of alone time

Method
 

  1. Send kids and/or significant other to the store to pick up "forgotten" item (toilet paper usually works, or ice cream...who's going to turn down ice cream?).
  2. Layer thin slices of lemon, lime, and broken mint into a glass.
  3. Add water.
  4. Sit down for five minutes (or ten if you're really brave) and do nothing but drink and breathe.
  5. Ignore the phone.
  6. Ignore the chores.
  7. Ignore the dog.
  8. Just take this time for you. Relax. Breathe. Be refreshed. You are amazing.

Notes

Honestly this is basically just lemon/lime/herb water with no sugar added. If you'd prefer a drink with a little more sweetness, try adding in sliced watermelon or a few fresh berries. You'll miss the added sugar at first, but if you drink this once a day, after a while you'll start to crave it. It really is that good for you.
