Nothin' says lovin' like brownies in the oven. And seriously, these Classic Brownies have love written all over them. Whether it's for a birthday, or just a day that ends in 'y' brownies are the sweet treat that can't be beat (unless you top them with ice cream and maybe hot fudge)!

Ingredients
  

  • cup butter softened
  • cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup all purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
  3. Next, mix in the cocoa, vanilla, vegetable oil, and eggs.
  4. Last, add remaining dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt) and stir until there are no lumps.
  5. Pour the batter into a well greased 8 x 8 baking dish.
  6. Bake for approximately 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the brownies to cool thoroughly before cutting.
