In-the-Peel Banana Split Holiday Recipe

5 from 1 vote
I love the holidays…all the fabulous holiday recipes that only get used once a year…But this is totally my favorite. Unique, easy, and crazy-good, I love this In-the-Peel Banana Split Holiday Recipe.
Servings: 12
Course: Death By Dessert

Ingredients

  • Nestle Carnation’s Famous Fudge Kit
Now, this is a super-simple way to make fabulous, rich fudge–all in one kit in under 10 minutes, bu it makes over 1 1/2 pounds of fudge, so be sure to have another recipe in mind or prepare to treat yourself and others to this creamy fudge in LOTS of banana-splits LOL
  • Wonka Sweetarts Candy Canes one each in Blue Punch, Green Apple, and Cherry flavors, crushed
  • 2-3 bananas
  • Marichino cherries if desired
  • Nuts if desired
  • You can also put ice cream but since I'm allergic to milk...

Method

  1. Just follow the directions on the box
  2. Once your fudge has been made, but BEFORE you refrigerate it, sprinkle it with those crushed candy canes…come on, I dare ya!
  3. Cut a few very small squares of fudge (1″ by 1″ should suffice, although smaller would be fine, too) and set aside.
  4. Using a butter-knife, or if you’re amazing, peel back one section of the banana peel. Discard the peeled peel portion.
  5. Cut out notches in the banana’s meat that are about the same size as your fudge squares.
  6. Place the fudge squares in the notches in your banana.
  7. Put a few cherries in a strategic location to your liking and maybe even drizzle some cherry juice on top.
  8. You can also sprinkle other things over it, but this is what we do in our house since there are people allergic to nuts here.
  9. Enjoy!
