Old Bay Pickles

Ingredients
  

  • 2 big sprigs of dill
  • 1 - 2 cucumbers
  • ¼ cup of sliced green onions
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of distilled vinegar
  • 3 whole peeled garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of black peppercorns
  • ½ teaspoon of mustard seeds
  • a good shake of celery seeds
  • 1 crushed up Bay leaf
  • a splash of maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning

Method
 

  1. Squish the dill with the empty jar to release the flavors.
  2. Add 1/2 the dill to the bottom of the jar.
  3. Slice cucumber into your desired shape, and add them to jar.
  4. Put remaining dill on top of the cucumbers.
  5. Combine the next 11 ingredients.
  6. Heat the mixture until the salt is dissolved.
  7. Pour mixture over the dill and cucumbers in the jar.
  8. Put the lid on the jar, and
  9. Refrigerate for 3 days.
