A ‘Hamilton’ Movie Starring The Original Cast Is In The Works and I Am So Excited
One item on my bucket list has always been to see the musical Hamilton. However, tickets are EXPENSIVE.
I’ve got three kids so spending $200 – $1200 (premium) for tickets is just out of the question.
That is why, I am so excited to hear that A ‘Hamilton’ Movie, Starring The Original Cast Is In The Works!
Hamilton tells the story of Alexander Hamilton who was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. In the original Broadway production, he is played by Lin-Manuel Miranda, who also wrote the musical’s book, music, and lyrics. He and most of the cast left Broadway back in 2016.
Since this time, you may have had friends or family (or maybe obnoxious co-workers) coming to brag about seeing the production with the original cast but they won’t be able to anymore!
Lin-Manuel Miranda has confirmed the show in an interview adding, “You all have that friend who brags, ‘I saw that with the original cast.’ We’re stealing that brag from everyone. You’re all gonna see it with the original cast”
Awwwww yeah!
Now, what he means is, this is basically a documentary comprised of footage recorded during performances with the original cast. He says it was filmed about a week before members of the original cast began to leave.
So, it’s already been filmed. I am guessing they are just editing and waiting for the right time to release it.
As for the release date, no final date has been set Miranda just says, “hopefully sooner rather than later”.
Ahh I can’t wait! And if you’ve been saving up to see the show, now you can for the cost of a movie ticket!
