A ‘Dirty Dancing’ Sequel Is In The Works Starring Jennifer Grey. Here’s What We Know.
Nobody puts Baby in the corner and apparently that rings true because Jennifer Grey is coming back as “Baby” in a new Dirty Dancing film!
The CEO of Lionsgate Studios, Jon Feltheimer, confirmed Thursday that Jennifer Grey will be the executive producer as well as star in a brand new version of Dirty Dancing.
Jennifer Grey is now 60 years old and we get to see what moves she still has going on! Apparently she still has it considering she won season 11 of “Dancing with the Stars” at age 50!
The original Dirty Dancing movie was released in 1987 and it starred Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey. Patrick Swayze played a dance instructor at a resort in the Catskills and Jennifer Grey played Frances “Baby” Houseman.
I’m hoping you’ve watched the original movie before, if not, now is the time to get on that! I don’t want to give away the whole plot just in case you’ve never watched it.
When I was younger this was a huge movie! The soundtrack was filled with some huge hits too! In fact, the Oscar for the best original song was won with “The Time of My Life”, which was sung by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes. The film also grossed $218 million globally!
will be exactly the kind of romantic, nostalgic movie that the franchise’s fans have been waiting for and that have made it the biggest-selling library title in the company’s history.

The film with be produced and developed by Jonathan Levine. So far that is about all of the information we have. There hasn’t been any word about the plot or co-stars.
Sadly the sequel will be missing the spark of Patrick Swayze since he passed away in 2009.
Are you excited about this? I’m actually hesitantly curious about it. I need to know more before I know just how excited I am.
