Classic Brownies

Nothin' says lovin' like brownies in the oven. And seriously, these Classic Brownies have love written all over them. Whether it's for a birthday, or just a day that ends in 'y' brownies are the sweet treat that can't be beat (unless you top them with ice cream and maybe hot fudge)!

Ingredients

  • cup butter softened
  • cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup all purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
  • Next, mix in the cocoa, vanilla, vegetable oil, and eggs.
  • Last, add remaining dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt) and stir until there are no lumps.
  • Pour the batter into a well greased 8 x 8 baking dish.
  • Bake for approximately 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the brownies to cool thoroughly before cutting.
