Place 6 cups of water in a pot over high heat.
In a small pan over high heat, sauté the chili-garlic sauce, mushrooms, carrots and chicken, if you’re doing chicken. Cook until the mushrooms are tender and/or the chicken is cooked all the way through.
Once the water is boiling in the pot, place the shrimp and ramen noodles in pot and allow to boil for 3 minutes or until noodles are tender and shrimp is pink.
Mix the ingredients from the pan with the ingredients in the pot.
Salt and pepper to taste.
Garnish with onions and a half-hardboiled egg in each bowl.
