Ingredients

  • 4 large apples pick your favorite
  • ½ stick of butter softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup walnuts
  • 2 Tablespoons cinnamon
  • ¼ cup white sugar for topping
  • ¼ cup raisins optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Cut the top 1/3 off of each apple (save the top), then core the apple (but leave a little at the bottom).
  • Using a spoon, scoop out the apple, leaving about a 1" rim all around.
  • In a medium sized bowl, mixed scooped apple bits, butter, brown sugar, walnuts, and cinnamon.
  • Place apples into a casserole dish (you can spray the bottoms if you are worried about sticking).
  • Scoop mixture back into each apple, and place top back on.
  • Sprinkle white sugar over the tops of each apple.
  • Cook in preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until soft on the inside. Enjoy!

Notes

You can make this dish even healthier by removing the butter. Though I enjoy the taste, it will taste just as good without. Serve with a glass of milk, and a smile.
