My oldest daughter is 21, nearly 22 and a new mother. She grew up watching Lizzie Mcguire. But guess what? Just like the kids who watched her, Lizzie McGuire grew up!

Just like my own daughter, Hilary is a mother in real life. It is safe to say that the beloved Lizzie character would be a grown-up, with grown-up issues in grown-up life.

The people most interested in watching this reboot are going to want to see the grown version of Lizzie. The one they can still relate with.

Hilary feels the same. I mean, I am sure grown-up Lizzie would have sex, drink a beer, and probably cuss here and there.

Hilary recently made an announcement on her Instagram stating why there was a temporary pause going on with the show reboot right now.

Was incredibly excited to launch ‘Lizzie’ on D+ and my passion remains!” she shared in a statement. “However, I feel a huge responsibility to honor the fans’ relationship with LIZZIE who, like me, grew up seeing themselves in her. I’d be doing a disservice to everyone by limiting the realities of a 30 year old’s journey to live under the ceiling of a PG rating.

She is asking that Disney allow the show to move to Hulu instead. This way they wouldn’t have to adhere to PG only content. I totally agree with her.

Hilary and Terri Minsky (The creator of Lizzie McGuire) both wanted to bring Lizzie back in her adult life. They did a couple of episodes and then Minsky was removed from the show.

Y’all, keep in mind Lizzie would be like 30 years old now. The original fans are adults. I think it is an excellent idea to have a more mature theme for the show that really doesn’t belong on Disney+.

Reading comments from fans that grew up watching the show, they also agree. They want justice for Lizzie!

I mean, Hulu is majority-owned by The Walt Disney Company anyhow. So why not? I’m pretty sure the fans have spoken.
