I have to admit I have always had this weird interest in serial killers. Not in a glorifying way at all, just a legitimate interest in why they are the way they are.

ITV – David Tennant as Dennis Nilsen

Dennis Nilsen was a necrophile, serial killer and one of Britain’s most infamous murderers. And now there is a new true-crime drama called Des that is being released about him.

Dennis and other tenants called a plumber out about the drains where he lived in London. The plumber found a flesh-like substance as well as many bones! Ew!

ITV – David Tennant as Dennis Nilsen

The plumber said that Dennis told him “It looks to me like someone has been flushing down their Kentucky Fried Chicken.”, um what?

The London police were called out to do an investigation about the human remains. Once questioned, Dennis eventually confessed to the murders. The London police arrested him in 1983.

They say he told the police “It’s a long story; it goes back a long time. I’ll tell you everything. I want to get it off my chest. Not here – at the police station.”.

After his arrest, he confessed to 15 murders! However, they were only able to prove that he had committed 12, but who really knows? He was sentenced to only 25 years in prison… say what? Eventually, that was changed to life in prison. I have got to watch this!

The real Dennis Nilsen – SWNS

He died at age 72 in 2018. They believe that between 1978 and 1983 that he had murdered 12 boys and young men!

David Tennant will be playing the part of Dennis Nilsen who was one of Britain’s most infamous serial killers. I can not believe how much he looks like him!

It’s a 3 part series and will premiere on September 14th at 9 PM on ITV. You can watch the trailer below! Let me know what you think!
